About Ximena
At the far south of Colombia's Pacific coast, in the Nariño region, lies Tumaco: a tropical land of rivers, mangroves, rainforest and the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the wettest and most biodiverse parts of Colombia, with a warm climate, heavy rainfall and fertile alluvial soils.
Cacao here traditionally grows in agroforestry systems, among bananas, coconuts, fruit trees, palms and tall forest trees, not as a monoculture on cleared plantations.
Ximena is a single-bean Criollo, a cacao with a strong sense of origin and character, from a terroir where Pacific humidity, rich forest vegetation and traditional agroforestry meet.
